5 Defensive Players That Could Make an Immediate Impact for Alabama in 2014
As we go through Signing Day and keep a constant watch on the fax machines, we're here to give you a run down on which five players that can make an immediate impact next season.
- 5
Tony Brown
5 Star Defensive BackTony Brown is the highest rated defensive player committed to Alabama in ESPN's Recruiting Nation rankings. He, along with fellow incoming defensive back Marlon Humphrey, will have a chance to make a huge impact in an Alabama defensive backfield that struggled at times last season.
- 4
Ronnie Clark
4 Star Safety/QuarterbackClark is officially listed as an "Athlete," but Kirby Smart has been recruiting Clark as a stand-out safety, and he's a good one. He is a great get for the Tide with a sudden depletion in the secondary, especially at the safety position.
- 3
Christian Miller
4 Star Outside LinebackerAs a solid verbal commit, Christian Miller is not only an outstanding football player, but he's a great young man. He joined Ryan Fowler on "The Game" a couple weeks ago, and didn't fail to impress everyone that heard him. On the football field, Miller is a fast, reactive, and smart outside linebacker who will step into a linebacking corps that will arguably be the best in the country.
- 2
Marlon Humphrey
5 Star Defensive BackThis young man is something special. Son of Alabama great Bobby Humphrey, Marlon is not only a top tier football player, but a top tier track & field athlete. Speed, speed, and more speed basically describes Humphrey, and he's also a great shutdown cornerback. He verbally committed to the Tide two weeks ago, but getting his letter of intent will be one of the best grabs that Coach Saban could ask for this year.

Da'Shawn Hand
5 Star Defensive LinemanOn most recruiting sites, Hand is regarded as the #1 overall player, and rightfully so. He stands at 6' 4", weighs in at a whopping 262 lb., and is lightning quick and one of the strongest players in the class of 2014.By signing Hand, Coach Saban will put a stamp on what some will call (and are currently calling) the greatest recruiting class ever.
