June might be a quiet month in the world of college football, but The University of Alabama has made plenty of noise on the recruiting trail.

Nick Saban and his staff picked up their fifth commitment in a week when Texas wide receiver Tyrell Shavers rolled with the Tide on Monday. 247Sports first reported the four-star's commitment.

"I enjoyed myself," Shavers told 247Sports. "Alabama is the National Champs. My recruitment is over. I'm playing for the best."

The 6-foot-6 receiver opened a lot of eyes earlier this year when he ran a 4.3 electronic 40-yard dash in Dallas. That combination of size and speed made him a high-priority target for a lot of schools, but he chose Alabama after a visit to Tuscaloosa last weekend.

The addition of Shavers gives the Crimson Tide 14 total commitments for the class of 2017. Check out the wide receiver's highlight video from his junior season.
