The University of Alabama continues to fill up its non-conference schedule for the 2017 college football season. The school officially announced that the Crimson Tide will host Fresno State on September 9, 2017.

This confirms the news that was first reported by the Fresno Bee over the weekend. While this will be the first meeting between the two teams, there is a little recent history between Alabama and Fresno State. Nick Saban hired Jim McElwain, who was the Bulldogs' offensive coordinator at the time, to lead the Crimson Tide's offense in 2008.

This is the second non-conference opponent added to Alabama's 2017 schedule in six days. Just last week, reports confirmed that the season opener will take place in Atlanta's new stadium against the Florida State Seminoles.
