Alabama senior starter Jake Walters was named SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week, the league announced on Monday. Walters’ effort helped the Crimson Tide take down the fourth-ranked Ole Miss Rebels on Friday evening, 3-0.

Walters was outstanding in his final start as a member of the Crimson Tide, limiting the high-powered Ole Miss offense to only four hits. The right-hander threw his first career complete game shutout and the Tide’s first since 2014, walking two and striking out seven across a career-high 35 batters faced.

The Friday start on Alabama’s Senior Night was the 52nd of Walters’ career, tying him for the UA career mark for starts by a pitcher. His seven strikeouts moved his four-year total to 292 to rank him third all-time at the Capstone, while his 295.0 total innings and 1,292 batters faced are each fourth-best in Alabama records for their respective categories.
