We already knew that Alabama and Clemson would meet in a non-conference game on the hardwood this year, but now we know the date and location of the SEC-ACC matchup.

Clemson released its non-conference schedule for 2016 and the Alabama game is scheduled for December 18 at Legacy Arena in Birmingham. Avery Johnson scheduled a similar major conference opponent during the school's winter break last year when eventual 1-seed Oregon survived for a four-point win over the Crimson Tide in the Vulcan Classic.

The announcement came as a small surprise because both schools agreed to a two-year series exactly one year ago, and at the time of that report, the return game was expected to take place in Tuscaloosa. Last year's meeting took place in Greenville, which served as Clemson's home court for the entire season. The Crimson Tide won that game 51-50.

Alabama hasn't released its 2016-17 schedule yet. That should come in the next few weeks and should include some more details about the game with Clemson.
