Alabama picked up its first offensive line commitment for 2018 when mammoth tackle Tommy Brown picked the Crimson Tide.

The 6-foot-7, 315-pound Brown pulled the trigger during a recent visit to Tuscaloosa, and he explained the decision during an appearance on The Game.

"What it came down to, even more than a dream school, was Alabama simply wins championships and it puts their linemen in the NFL," Brown told host Ryan Fowler. "And that's what I want to do. I want to play in the NFL and I want to win championships. So when it came down to it, it was Alabama all the way."

Brown will move across the country from his hometown of Santa Ana, California, but Alabama won't be unfamiliar to him. His father was a member of the Crimson Tide track and field team in the early 1980s.

"It was really talking to my dad, who is an Alabama grad. He just said that it's up to you and if you feel like Alabama's the best way, I don't think anyone will question your reasons for going there."

The pickup gives Nick Saban seven total commitments for the class of 2017.
