In the 2012-2013 athletic year the Alabama Crimson Tide men delivered 2 national championships (Football and Golf), helping lead the Alabama men to a 6th place finish in the Capital One Cup.

Alabama finished the scoring with a total of 80 points, two behind fifth place Duke. The UCLA Bruins helped by their recent national championship in baseball captured the crown with a total of 92 points.  North Carolina won the Women's Capital One Cup with a total of 140 points; the Alabama finished in 36 points.

The Capital One Cup only counts top 10 national finishes in a tiered point system.

Also released on Thursday was the Learfield Sports Directors cup in which Alabama finished with a total of 740.5-100 each for the national championships in football and men's golf teams, good enough for a 26th place finish.  Alabama was 51st in the standings heading into the spring, but was aided by strong showing in golf, tennis, softball and track to jump 25 places in the final standings.

Alabama was one of seven SEC teams to finish in the top 30 in the final LearfieldSports Directors' Cup standings. In the Men's Capital One Cup, Alabama was one of 3 teams within the conference to finish in the top 10
