Alabama men’s basketball head coach Avery Johnson will join over 4,000 basketball coaches and staff from across the country for Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers Awareness Week, Jan. 23-29, 2017. Fans are encouraged to join Johnson’s Coaches vs. Cancer 3-Point Challenge team to help raise funds for the American Cancer Society.

With the launch of the 3-Point Challenge, Alabama fans will have the opportunity to pledge a monetary amount for every 3-pointer the Tide makes from now through March 5. The funds raised will help the American Cancer Society continue its mission to improving and saving lives by doing the most to help people with cancer today and working tirelessly to find cures for the disease tomorrow.

Johnson and his staff will wear sneakers and launch the team’s Coaches vs. Cancer 3-Point Challenge during their games this week against Georgia and Mississippi State. The Tide will face Georgia on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 8 p.m. CT on ESPNU, followed by a home game against Mississippi State on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 5 p.m. CT on SEC Network.
