The Alabama men's golf team completed round one of the NCAA Regional Tournament held at Ol' Colony Golf Complex in Tuscaloosa on Monday, ending the round with a cumulative total of a four over par 292, placing them in fifth place heading into the final round.

There are 13 teams competing in this year's regional tournament, including five Southeastern Conference teams (Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, Kentucky, and South Carolina), all of whom rank inside the top 32 teams in the nation.

After round one, the Tide shot a four over 292, which puts them behind the leading Georgia Bulldogs by a total of eight strokes (Georgia shot 284). Along with the Bulldogs, only one other team shot under par for the first round: the South Carolina Gamecocks (one under 287).

Alabama's #1 golfer Robby Shelton leads the Tide and is tied for ninth for the individual title, shooting a one under 71, trailing three players by three strokes. Johnathan Hardee sits at a one over 73, Davis Riley and Dru Love both shot a two over 74, and Tom Lovelady posted a three over 75 for the first round.
