The Alabama men’s golf team will be featured in the Golf Channel’s “Driven” – a four-part documentary series that follows the competitive journeys and storied rivalries of college golf’s top programs. The second year of the show will premier in the spring of 2019 on Golf Channel and NBC.

“I am excited that our guys and our program have an opportunity to be part of the Driven show,” Alabama head coach Jay Seawell said. “It will give an in-depth look at our program while also providing our fans an inside look into Alabama men’s golf.”

The Crimson Tide will be highlighted in this year’s documentary, which will profile the men’s golf team and their “Iron Bowl” rivalry with Auburn. The series will follow both teams’ journeys to return to the 2019 NCAA Golf National Championships in May, and also will track reigning National Champions Oklahoma State University, which was featured on Driven’s inaugural season.

Fellow PGA Tour superstar and former Alabama men’s golfer Justin Thomas, a member of the 2013 Alabama Crimson Tide national championship team, will partner with Rickie Fowler as co-executive producer. Driven is written and produced by Ollie Stokes, a 20-time Emmy Award winner who also wrote and produced Showtime’s ALL ACCESS: Mayweather vs. McGregor.

“I watched every episode of the first season of Driven and I told Rickie that Alabama would be great for a future season,” said Thomas. “I’m excited about the opportunity to team up with Rickie and showcase Alabama’s golf program like never before. And it’s weeks like this with the Iron Bowl that remind me why college sports are so great and how much fun I had playing for Alabama. Roll Tide!”

“Justin Thomas is the perfect partner for season two,” said Mike McCarley, president of Golf NBC Sports Group.” “There may be no larger and more rabid fanbase right now than Alabama riding high going into this week’s Iron Bowl with the No. 1 football team in the nation. Similarly, Driven will capture how Alabama’s men’s golf team has national championship aspirations of their own.”

Driven will air on three consecutive Monday nights on the Golf Channel leading up to its coverage of the 2019 NCAA Men’s Golf Championship starting May 6. The final episode will premiere on NBC following the championship, which will take place May 27-29 at The Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark.

The Crimson Tide is currently ranked fourth in the nation after the fall season, which included capturing the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate team championship. Alabama will return to action when it opens the 2019 spring season at the Puerto Rico Classic on Feb. 17-19 in Rio Mar Beach, Puerto Rico.
