ESPN has announced the television network designations and start times for the fifth annual Big 12/SEC Challenge Presented by Sonic.

Alabama will play host to Oklahoma on Jan. 27 in Coleman Coliseum in the annual event. The game will tip off at 2:15 p.m. ET (1:15 p.m. CT) and will be one of four contests in the challenge televised on ESPN.

In addition to the four ESPN contests, four games will air on ESPN2 and two games will be shown on ESPNU. All 10 games will also be available on the Watch ESPN app.

ESPN’s College GameDay Covered by State Farm – the Saturday roadshow that discusses the top storylines of the college basketball season – will originate from one of the Challenge games.

All 10 of the Big 12’s teams and 10 of the SEC’s 14 member institutions will participate in this year’s event. Each of the 10 SEC teams that participate in the 2018 Challenge will be a part of the 2019 event.

This will be the third year that a bye in the league schedule for participating teams was created to accommodate the single-day format. The four SEC teams not participating will play each other in conference games the same day. The first two years of the challenge were played over several days in November and December but the 2018 event will be consolidated to one single day in January.

This year’s contest will mark the eighth meeting between Alabama and Oklahoma, with the Sooners posting a 5-2 edge in the all-time series. The last time the teams met came on Nov. 8, 2013, as Oklahoma secured an 82-73, come-from-behind victory over Alabama in Dallas.

The Tide owns a 1-0 record in the annual challenge, with the only game coming in a 76-64 victory over Texas Tech on Nov. 14, 2013 – the first year of the event. Alabama has not participated in the event in each of the last three seasons.

Deposits for 2017-18 men’s basketball season tickets are currently being accepted by the University of Alabama TIDE PRIDE/Ticket Office. Fans can click HERE for more information or to make their deposit today.
