Alabama enters the 2017 SEC Softball Tournament as the No. 5 overall seed, opening play on Wednesday, May 10 at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn., against 12th-seeded Arkansas at 11 a.m. CT live on the SEC Network.

Finishing the regular season with a 40-15 overall record and 12-11 mark in conference play, the Crimson Tide are this year’s No. 5 seed, matching up in opening-round action against No. 12 seed Arkansas who come in at 31-21 overall and 7-17 in SEC play. Alabama swept the Razorbacks earlier this season in Tuscaloosa and own a 56-8 all-time mark against Arkansas, including a 4-1 record at the SEC Tournament. The last time the two teams met in the SEC Tournament was 2010, a 9-0 Tide victory in five innings.

Alabama owns a 36-23 all-time record at the SEC Tournament, including championship titles in 1998, 2003, 2005, 2010 and 2012.

The winner of Wednesday’s game will advance to face No. 4 seed Texas A&M (42-9, 16-7 SEC) on Thursday, May 11 at 11 a.m. CT on SEC Network. The tournament semifinals will take place on Friday, May 12 on ESPN2 and the SEC Tournament championship will be on Saturday, May 13 at 7 p.m. CT live on ESPN.
