The University of Alabama women’s basketball team made history at Foster Auditorium Thursday night.

After 42 straight losses in the series, the Crimson Tide won for the first time against the Lady Vols since 1984 with a 54-46 victory. The win marked Alabama’s first ever win against Tennessee in Tuscaloosa.

Crimson Tide coach Kristi Curry gave her thoughts on the win during her appearance on the Gary Harris Show. Curry mentioned how big the win is for the program.

“We’re just really excited for our program. It’s one of those wins that kind of gives us some validity as we move forward, that we’re progressing the program.” Curry said.

The win also concludes the home schedule as the Crimson Tide will end the regular season in Starkville against Mississippi State with tip-off Sunday at 1:30 PM.

Catch the Gary Harris Show each weekday from 9-11 AM on Tide 99.1 and the radioPup app.
