Alabama’s Best Inside Linebackers in the Saban Era

In 126 years of college football in Tuscaloosa,  linebackers such as Lee Roy Jordan, Cornelius Bennett and Derrick Thomas have forged an identity for Alabama football of hard hitting, aggressive defenses.

Since 2007, Rolando McClain, C.J. Mosley, Donta Hightower and Reuben Foster have maintained the standard of excellence at linebacker set by their predecessors.

During this week's episodes of The Blitz, former Alabama fullback Martin takes a look into the faces that have defined the inside linebacker position at Alabama.

While linebackers such as Mack Wilson and Dylan Moses prepare to lead the Crimson Tide defense in 2018, Houston looked at McClain's impact on the field as well as in the locker room during Saban's early years in Tuscaloosa.

The former Crimson Tide fullback later highlighted teammate Corey Reamer's recollection of McClain's message to his teammates after falling to Florida in 2008 and how his leadership fueled the program's national championship run in 2009.
