For the second time this season, Alabama’s Jordan Lewis has been named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week for women’s basketball, the league office announced on Tuesday.

In the Crimson Tide’s lone contest against UTEP last week, the Windermere, Fla., native had a 2:1 assist/turnover ratio, finishing with six assists and only three turnovers in 32 minutes played. Lewis also scored 17 points, 12 of which came in the first quarter to spark the Alabama offense.

She is the only freshman in the SEC ranked in the top five in the league in assists with an average of 4.4 per game.

For the season, Lewis is averaging 10.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.7 steals and has started all 12 games at the point guard position for the Tide.

Catch Lewis and the rest of the team back in action on Wednesday, Dec. 28, when Alabama hosts Florida A&M in the Tide’s final non-conference game of the season. Tip is slated for 7 p.m. CT in Coleman Coliseum.
