Alabama junior Minkah Fitzpatrick has been named to the 2017 Southeastern Conference Football Community Service Team, the league office announced Tuesday.

A team leader in the community and on campus in his three years at Alabama, Fitzpatrick has given his time to several groups around Tuscaloosa, including the YMCA, TAP, Inc. and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The Old Bridge, N.J. native has been active in mentoring at-risk youth in the area. He also spent his spring break in 2017 with a group of Alabama student-athletes as part of an FCA mission trip that did relief work in Costa Rica.

The SEC names a Community Service Team for each of its 21-league sponsored sports, highlighting an athlete from each school who gives back to his community through superior service efforts.
