The University of Alabama has pulled a few top recruits from its rival's backyard in recent years, but Auburn has returned the favor.

American Christian Academy long snapper Bill Taylor announced on MOnday that he would be leaving Tuscaloosa to head across the state for college.

At 6-foot-4 and 235 pounds, Taylor is rated as one of top players at his position per Kohl's Kicking Camp.  The site lists him No. 2 overall and a five-star prospect. Here's how they evaluated him:

During the Winter Southern Showcase, Bill put on a show with his talents. He scored on every one of his long snaps but also achieved an average snap time of .64 seconds. Not only is Bill the most explosive 2017 snapper, he is one of the largest and most athletic. He is 6',4" and weighs 235 pounds. His current abilities and frame make Bill one of the best snappers in the country.

Even though Taylor plays his high school home games just a few miles from Bryant-Denny Stadium, he grew up a fan of the Tigers as his parents attended college there.

"Everybody's ecstatic right now," Taylor said. "I see this as a huge opportunity. One of my aspirations one day is to play in the NFL and I think the stage at Auburn is one that can be suitable for that. I think the next few years at Auburn can be among the best years ever at Auburn. I think they've got the best coaching staff in the country and I'm excited to be a part of it."
