The first team to address the press at the 2015 SEC Media Days were the Auburn Tigers.  Last season started with high hopes for the team from the Plains as they were ranked in the intial College Football Playoff Poll during the middle of the season.  However, a lackluster defense and turnover troubles on offense led to a disappointing 8-5 record, which included losses to Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M, Mississippi State and Wisconsin in the Outback Bowl.

Despite the finish for Gus Malzahn's squad, there is considerable hype surrounding the Tigers this offseason.  The hiring of former Florida head coach Will Muschamp to run the defense has been praised as a key to fixing one of Auburn's major weaknesses.  There is also belief that new quarterback Jeremy Johnson can run an offense that features more variety than in the past.

Auburn only reutrns four starters from last year's offense, but that hasn't stopped many sportswriters from being high on the Tigers.  In fact, according to several media outlets they are one of the favorites to win the SEC this season.

Gus Malzahn spoke to help start SEC Media Days.  He was joined by linebacker Kris Frost and quarterback Jeremy Johnson.
