Although kickoff for the 2016 season is approximately six weeks away, a favorite pastime for Alabama fans is to revisit the numerous championship teams throughout the football program’s history.

Alabama’s assistant athletics director for donor programs Tommy Ford appeared on The Gary Harris Show to promote his new book, “Alabama’s Crimson Mission”.

Ford has contributed to numerous books pertaining to Alabama football including “A Season to Remember: Faith in the Midst of the Storm”, the “Alabama Auburn Rivalry Vault” and “Bear Bryant on Leadership: Life Lessons from a Six-Time National Championship Coach”.

“Alabama’s Crimson Mission” chronicles the Crimson Tide’s run to a national championship in 2015 and how they were able to fight through an early season loss to Ole Miss.

Ford described his motivation for writing the book and the selection process that lead to him being the author.

The veteran Alabama athletic department official mentioned how the national media dismissed Alabama after the Ole Miss loss and how the team geared their collective focus on what they could control.

Ford later explained how the Ole Miss loss was a turning point for the 2015 championship season.
