While the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers play for the NBA title, one college basketball coach is looking to continue the momentum year one into year two.

Alabama men’s basketball coach Avery Johnson offered his assessment of the off-season on Inside the Locker Room.

Johnson gave his thoughts on the newcomers on the Crimson Tide roster, the team’s off-season conditioning, the state of the SEC and the NBA Finals.

The Crimson Tide head coach offered a small taste of what he is expecting from Alabama basketball in the 2016-2017 basketball season.

“We want to take a little bit of a step forward this year. Whether that means making the tournament or whatever, but if we can get in play and be on the bubble like we were last year, hopefully we’ll be able to get in.” Johnson said.

Johnson updated the status of point guard Dazon Ingram.

“Dazon (Ingram) is completely healthy. Right now it’s just all about getting his timing back, getting his body in shape at a level where he can compete 30+ minutes a game.“ Johnson said.

Inside the Locker Room airs every weekday from 7-9 AM on Tide 99.1 and the radioPup app.
