It's already been a busy news week for Alabama men's basketball and the regular season hasn't even tipped off.

Less than an hour before the Crimson Tide took the floor for an exhibition game against Alabama-Huntsville, Director of Athletics Greg Byrne released a statement saying heralded freshman Collin Sexton would be held out because the NCAA has not reinstated his eligibility. His status remains in question as the season opener approaches on Friday.

Meanwhile, talented sophomore Braxton Key will have to undergo surgery to repair a torn meniscus and will miss an undetermined amount of time to begin the season. Pair that with injuries to Riley Norris and Ar'Mond Davis and the Crimson Tide might have to deal with some depth issues to start the year. Alabama opens with a neutral site game against Memphis on Friday night.

Wimp and Barry Sanderson will try to get some of the questions answered on Wednesday morning at 7:30 a.m. when head coach Avery Johnson joins Inside the Locker Room. If you're not in Tuscaloosa, you can catch the interview on the new Tide 102.9 app.
