Milwaukee Brewers starter Jimmy Nelson had one of his best starts from the mound this season in a 3-2 victory against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday.

Facing one of the best hitting teams in all of Major League Baseball, the former Crimson Tide pitcher took a no-hitter into the sixth inning before the Dodgers struck for a pair of runs. He recorded two outs in the seventh inning before giving way to his teammates in the bullpen.

Nelson earned his 10th victory of the season by fanning six Dodgers batters while allowing four hits and walking two in 6.2 innings of work to secure the series for the Brewers.

Milwaukee’s win combined with a Chicago Cubs loss at Philadelphia moves the Brewers to within two games of first place in the National League Central.

Check out how the rest of the Crimson Tide’s former stars fared last week around MLB.
