You probably had a good weekend if you cheer for an SEC team.

The conference, as a whole, dominated the opening week of college football with Vanderbilt's 14-12 loss to Western Kentucky being the SEC's only hiccup.

As we move forward to week two, the word "revenge" will come to mind for a lot of SEC teams seeking redemption against opponents that knocked them off in 2014. Revenge is sweet, but it can also prove to be costly for those who lose focus on the task at hand.

The top games to watch this week will feature three teams that are looking to capitalize on that sweet revenge, while their opponents look to maintain bragging rights for at least one more year.

Here are the top three games to watch in the SEC in week two:

  • #19 Oklahoma at #25 Tennessee

    5:00 pm CT on ESPN

Tennessee has had a rough go of things over the past few seasons, but this year may be different. The Vols finally have enough talent to avenge any previous loss that may be weighing on their mind including last year's 34-10 loss to Oklahoma.

Oklahoma, of course, will not be an easy team to take down. The Sooners defeated Akron 41-3 in week one behind Baker Mayfield's 388 yards of passing. Oklahoma will likely lean on Mayfield to torch a Tennessee secondary that allowed 430 passing yards to Bowling Green last week. The Sooners will also add their rushing attack, powered by Samaje Perine, to the mix.

Tennessee has a few offensive weapons of their own. Jalen Hurd and Alvin Kamara combined for 267 rushing yards and five touchdowns in their 59-30 win over Bowling Green. Joshua Dobbs threw for 205 yards in the win, which helped the Vols' balanced offense perform like a well oiled machine. The trick will be continuing that same rhythm against a tough Oklahoma defense.

The Vols are desperately searching for a big time win to put them back on the map, and Saturday could be just that. A win would also pay dividends for the Sooners, but that will be difficult to do in a hostile environment with a big target on their back.

  • Kentucky at South Carolina

6:30 pm CT on the SEC Network

South Carolina was leading Kentucky by two touchdowns with just over eight minutes left in last year's contest. By the time the clock hit zero the Wildcats had scored three unanswered touchdowns and won the game, 45-38. The Gamecocks will certainly have revenge in mind.

Before they can focus on said revenge, they must first focus on ironing out previous issues. South Carolina defeated North Carolina 17-13 in what was a sloppy start to the college football season. The defense led the way for the Gamecocks, while the offense struggled to get things going. Lucky for them, defense may be the only thing they need against a Kentucky team that also had week one struggles.

The Wildcats primary struggles appear to be on defense where they allowed 440 yards of offense to Louisiana-Monroe. They managed to slip away with a 40-33 win thanks in part to Stanley Williams' 135 rushing yards. Mark Stoops' Air Raid offense will force Patrick Towles to pass his way down the field, but Stoops now knows that he can mix it up by letting Williams carry some of the load.

This game will be a matchup of Spurrier's defense versus Stoops' offense. Kentucky is slowly climbing there way up the ladder under Stoops, but they may not be prepared to take down South Carolina in Columbia.

  • #14 LSU at Mississippi State

    8:15 pm CT on ESPN

Mississippi State's cinderella run through the 2014 regular season all started with an upset win over LSU in Tiger Stadium. Neither team has forgotten, and it will certainly create an excellent 2015 version of the game.

A good chunk of Mississippi State's starters from last season are gone. However, the primary piece still remains: Dak Prescott. Prescott accounted for 309 yards in last week's 34-16 win over Southern Miss. Prescott will need to keep up his old trick and possibly add a few new ones if he plans on upsetting LSU once again.

The Tigers' first game of the season was cancelled due to inclement weather. A optimist may say that this will allow SEC an extra week of preparation, while a pessimist may say that not working your team's kinks out in week one could serve as a problem. Either way, the Tigers and quarterback Brandon Harris are going to have to bring their 'A' game.

Mississippi State's rush defense did a nice job in last week's win, but they will be facing a completely different breed of running back in Leonard Fournette. The Bulldogs have superior talent as well, so it will be interesting to see how this game plays out in Starkville.
