Alabama enters the 2017 season having won 17 straight SEC games and 24 of its past 25, but could the team still be underappreciated?

Wide receiver Calvin Ridley seems to think so. During his appearance at SEC Media Days on Wednesday, the junior said that the team doesn't always get respect.

"We definitely got a chip on our shoulder," Ridley said. "We win a lot, but you know a lot of people still don't respect us."

As if Alabama needed any extra motivation, it appears Ridley and his teammates are using that lack of respect as fuel for next season.

"We hear a lot of things like Alabama's not Alabama anymore, they lost to Clemson. We're just going to suck that up and focus, get our leadership going on our team, play as one, and we'll be ready."

You can hear Ridley's comments beginning at 4:47 in the video above.

The Crimson Tide will have a chance to make an early statement when it faces Florida State in the season opener on September 2.
