Saturday's game between Alabama and Southern Cal might feature the best collection of wide receivers all season with Calvin Ridley on one sideline and JuJu Smith-Schuster on the other.

Both players finished with 89 receptions a year ago, which made Smith-Schuster the second-best sophomore and Ridley the second-best freshman in 2015. They will both be aiming for the top spot in 2016, but both will be playing with a new quarterback.

The Crimson Tide's leading receiver said all of the quarterbacks have been performing well this fall.

"I really think they're doing really good," Ridley said. "Like last year, Jake (Coker), he was doing really good obviously, but they're doing similar things. I think that we're going to be fine."

Head coach Nick Saban said the competition is down to Cooper Bateman and Blake Barnett. Whoever ultimately wins the battle will have an experienced group of wide receivers and the national championship game's offensive MVP to throw to.

"Whoever it's going to be has a lot of confidence in the weapons he has around him that we all know what we're going to do," Ridley said.

Ridley, ArDarius Stewart, Robert Foster, Gehrig Dieter and others will have one of their more difficult matchups to open the season because the Trojans feature some playmakers in the secondary.

"The secondary is probably the strongest part of the defense, I would say. And they have a lot of great DBs starting with Adoree' Jackson and Iman Marshall. They're stacked in the secondary so you have to bring it."

The long-awaited matchup will kickoff at 7PM. You can see the game on ABC and hear it in Tuscaloosa on Tide 102.9 and 95.3 the Bear.
