Cecil Hurt, sports editor of The Tuscaloosa News and most recently named the National Sports Media Association’s Alabama Sportswriter of the Year, joined Host of "Southern Fried Sports" Travis Reier Tuesday morning to talk some ball and provide an early insight to Alabama's 2019 team.

"I look back two years ago and I guess it's similar," Hurt told Reier. "When Alabama doesn't win a championship there's a reaction like the sky is falling."

Hurt explained how a few of the seven players heading to the NFL draft early were deemed worthy to enter, and which potentially needed more experience before heading to the next level.

"The ones you see at the podium with coach Saban sort of have the seal of approval," Hurt said. "The ones who weren't he (Saban) probably wondered if they could have helped themselves with another year."
