Throughout the off season, UCF has claimed the national championship after defeating Auburn in the Peach Bowl leading to an undefeated season despite the Crimson Tide winning the College Football Playoffs.

Former UCF head coach Scott Frost told USA TODAY if he was there it would be hard to claim the national championship, but since then has backed up his statement by saying they deserve to call themselves champions.

Now, Nick Saban has finally responded to UCF claims in a recent interview with USA TODAY Sports.

"I guess anybody has the prerogative to claim anything," Nick Saban told USA Today's George Schroeder. "But self-proclaimed is not the same as actually earning it. And there's probably a significant number of people who don't respect people who make self-proclaimed sort of accolades for themselves."

The writer of the article USA Today's George Schroeder joined The Game with Ryan Fowler to discuss his conversation with both Nick Saban and Scott Frost addressing the national championship and also a look at the bowl system.

Listen to George Schroeder's analysis on Alabama/UCF, the bowl system and more surrounding college football from a national scale, make sure you watch the video above the article.
