Alabama softball added another transfer pitcher to its 2019 roster, as former Hofstra standout Sarah Cornell will continue her collegiate career with the Crimson Tide.

Cornell, a junior from Westbury, N.Y., was the 2018 Colonial Athletic Association Pitcher of the Year and a two-time NFCA All-Northeast Region First Team honoree. She started 31 games as a freshman in 2017 before leading the league with 245 strikeouts over 222.1 innings as a sophomore in 2018, posting a 23-9 record. She helped lead to the Pride to a CAA Tournament title last year, earning a save in the championship game against James Madison. That earned Hofstra an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, its first since 2015. The Pride was ranked No. 24 in the season’s final NFCA poll.

Cornell will be the second transfer pitcher on the 2019 Tide roster, joining NJCAA national pitcher of the year Krystal Goodman. The pair join a four-member freshman class of Kloyee Anderson, Kayla Davis, Montana Fouts and Skylar Wallace as newcomers on next year’s roster.
