Alabama's defense received a big boost for 2016 when the team's interception leader announced he would return for his final season.

Safety Eddie Jackson tweeted Thursday morning that he would pass on the NFL Draft and return to Tuscaloosa for his senior year.

Jackson enjoyed a breakout season after the coaching staff moved him from cornerback to safety. He won the starting position out of fall camp and thrived in his new role. Jackson's six interceptions and two touchdowns were tied for first in the SEC.

The junior became a national name after his performance in the College Football Playoff National Championship earned him defensive MVP honors.
