Ex-Rebels Coach Freeze Regrets Mistakes at Ole Miss
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Former Arkansas State coach Hugh Freeze was regretful as he reflected on the personal conduct that cost him his job at Ole Miss.
Freeze spoke at the Little Rock Touchdown Club on Monday.
Freeze, who coached Ole Miss from 2012-2016, resigned in July 2017 after university officials found a "pattern of personal misconduct" starting with the school's investigation into a call to an escort service.
The Associated Press obtained Freeze's university cellphone records showing a 1-minute call made on Jan. 19, 2016, to a Detroit-based number. An internet search showed the number linked to a site that offers various escort services. Freeze had been married for 27 years.
Arkansas State won the Sun Belt Conference in 2011, Freeze's only season as head coach before he was hired at Ole Miss.
