In the year leading up to national signing day of 2007, CBS College Football Writer and Author of Meat Market: Inside the Smashmouth World of College Football Recruiting, Bruce Feldman had unprecedented access inside the Ole Miss Rebels football program.  The book documents the day-to-day process then head coach Ed Orgeron and his staff took in pursuing the top high school talent.

Since the book has been published, it is not only coaches keeping on top of recruiting on a daily basis, but fans as well.  With the rise of recruiting websites, the impact of message boards, and the popularity of following top recruits on social media platforms-Feldman says the attention paid to the recruiting process is the biggest difference he has seen.

Feldman goes onto add that will all the scrutiny and access to recruit's Facebook and Twitter pages, in addition to the message boards that have long thrived, it is easy to see how the recruiting scene can get messy for the prospects and families involved.
