As another edition of SEC Media Days is added to the history books, a former Alabama running back looked back on a past visit to the annual gathering of coaches, players and assembled media.

Former Alabama running back Shaud Williams described his experience at SEC Media Days and his career in Tuscaloosa on Southern Fried Sports with Travis Reier.

Williams made his only appearance at SEC Media Days in 2003 along with former Alabama linebacker Cornelius Wortham. The former Crimson Tide running back recounted the circumstances involving the coaching changes in the off-season and the attention he received surrounding his SEC Media Days appearance

He mentioned the advice that was given to him going into his SEC Media Days visit.

“There wasn’t a whole lot of coaching up. They were just reminding us of things. If there was a question that we didn’t feel comfortable answering, just say ‘no comment’ or ‘I don’t feel comfortable answering that question.’, or if you don’t understand the question, make sure you ask them to repeat the question if you don’t understand it. I mean that was really it.” Williams said.

Shaud Williams gained 2,288 yards on 410 carries and scored 19 touchdowns in two seasons at Alabama.

Southern Fried Sports airs every weekday from 11-Noon on Tide 102.9 and the radioPup app.
