Former Miss Tuscaloosa Is One Step Closer to Winning Miss Alabama [PHOTOS]

Former Miss Tuscaloosa and current Miss Trussville, Cassidy Jo Jacks is competing to become the next Miss Alabama in the Miss America contest in September. 

47 women are currently competing for the coveted title. The competition is divided into three categories: talent on Wednesday, interview and swimsuit Thursday and evening gown on Friday.

During the talent portion on Wednesday night, Jacks was chosen as winner after she wowed judges and onlookers with an amazing vocal performance of 'At Last,' made famous by Etta James.

Once Thursday and Friday competitions are complete, the contestants will be narrowed down to a top 12. Each of those 12 will compete in every phase of competition again (except interview) for the title of Miss Alabama.
