Since the departure of A.J. McCarron after the 2013 season, the Alabama Crimson Tide has gone through each spring practice without a proven starter at quarterback.

It’s no different this spring as the Crimson Tide is in the process of finding their signal caller for this fall.

Inside the Locker Room contributor and former Ole Miss, Florida State and Troy assistant Max Howell weighed in on the quarterback race at Alabama.

Howell stated that the surrounding talent, knowledge of the offense and ability to manage the offense would be keys to finding a starter.

He also stressed that spring practice may not be the time for a quarterback to win over the team.

Inside the Locker Room airs each weekday from 7-9 AM on Tide 99.1 and the radioPup app.
