A 22-year-old sought by Tuscaloosa Authorities on drug trafficking charges was captured earlier this afternoon in North Carolina.

Kevin James Piccolo was taken into custody in Waxhaw, North Carolina. He had been the object of a search by The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force. After various leads, U.S. Marshals were sent to western North Carolina, (where he's from), in an attempt to locate and capture him. Law Enforcement Agencies developed information that he was in North Carolina, (where he is from), and sent U.S. Marshals in Western North Carolina to find him.

Piccolo, a one time student at The University of Alabama is facing multiple charges including: Marijuana Trafficking, Four Counts Of Unlawful Possession Of A Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia.

Once he is returned to Alabama, Authorities say that Piccolo will be held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $1.596 million bond.
