Host of "Southern Fried Sports" Travis Reier was joined by Alabama Softball's head coach Patrick Murphy, as he previewed the new season and the upcoming trip to Troy for the Trojan Classic this weekend.

Heading into the season Alabama was ranked 9th by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association and 11th by USA Softball in the preseason national polls. Crimson Tide will face Murray State, Troy, and Maryland with some new faces to lead off the 2019 season, freshman Montana Fouts will be one to keep an eye on.

"Well we had to add three pitchers to try to make up for the loss of Osorio," Coach Murphy told Reier. "Montana Fouts is a great young lady. I think you are gonna love watching her pitch, but you are also going to love interacting with her. She was USA Today's National Player of the Year, her work ethic is just beyond anyone that we have ever had in the circle."

You can listen to Travis's full conversation with coach Murphy in the video above. Can't make it to Troy? You can hear all of the games this weekend on our sister station Praise 93.3 FM.
