The Alabama Crimson Tide nor the SEC had a presence in this year's Heisman ceremony in New York City despite having two teams in the College Football Playoffs.

Alex Scarborough of ESPN just released his eight likely-to-return players primed for a 2018 Heisman run. The list includes three players in the SEC one being Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts.

In the article, Scarborough writes " For all the consternation over his ability as a passer, all the sophomore quarterback does is make plays and win games." He continues to write "If he carries Alabama to a third straight playoff next season, it will be hard to deny the dual-threat QB a trip to New York."

Hurts finished this season with 2,005 passing yards and 768 rushing yards with 23 total touchdowns. Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham and Georgia running back D'Andre Swift were also on the watch list.

Despite not having the individual awards this season outside of defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick, the Crimson Tide are aiming for the ultimate prize starting on January 1. All eyes will be on Hurts for these next two games and according to Scarborough, next season as well.
