Joe Paterno's wife is vowing to continue the fight to clear the late Penn State football coach's name.

Sue Paterno released a letter Thursday addressed to Penn State athletes, just days before the fourth anniversary of her husband's firing amid the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal.

Paterno says she hasn't given up on setting the record straight about her husband. She criticizes the 2012 report that found Paterno and university officials failed to address allegations against Sandusky.

She says she's fighting for the truth, but can't add details since some issues are being litigated.

Joe Paterno died of lung cancer two months after he was fired.

The NCAA in January restored 111 wins negated as punishment for the scandal, making Paterno again the winningest coach in major college football history with 409 victories
