In a year where their head coach was fired before the first month of the season ended, the LSU football team doesn't lack confidence heading into a matchup with top-ranked Alabama.

It's a series that Alabama has dominated historically (65.6% winning percentage) and in recent years (5 straight victories), but LSU senior Dwayne Thomas believes the Tigers change that next Saturday.

“This is the year,” Thomas told The Advocate in Baton Rouge. “We’ve been letting them off the hook for the last couple of years. This is my senior year. We’re going out with a bang. It’s time for us to bring that win back. We’re going to be at home. I feel like we have the edge to take it to them, and we’re going to take it to them. I feel like we’re going to dominate this game.”

During the five-game winning streak, Alabama hasn't scored fewer than 20 points while LSU has failed to score more than 17 in each meeting. And the Crimson Tide might be bringing its best offense of the winning streak to Baton Rouge on November 5.

That doesn't change Thomas' opinion.

“I really see us dominating this offense. I really see us dominating this team."

The SEC West lead will be on the line once again when these two programs square off under the lights of Death Valley. The game will kickoff at 7PM on CBS.
