National signing day is less than two weeks away as America’s top recruits decide where they want to play college football.

National recruiting expert J.C. Shuburrt from Saturday Down South joined Inside the Locker Room with Wimp and Barry Sanderson to give his insights on where Alabama and the rest of the Southeastern Conference stands as far as the top recruits around the country.

One program Alabama fans are keeping an eye on is Georgia with new head coach Kirby Smart.

"I think Georgia is going to be better equipped to fight recruiting battles within the state of Georgia against Alabama, and also maybe some in the state of Alabama," Shurburtt said.

"With this particular (recruiting) cycle, Georgia is in on the guys Georgia was going to get. Alabama really has done quite well with some other guys I thought Georgia was going to get."

According to past Rivals.com recruiting rankings, Alabama landed a top 5 recruiting class in every season since 2008 including the number one spot six times. Alabama’s recruiting success under Nick Saban is often credited as a leading factor in the Crimson Tide winning four national titles since 2009.

Currently, Alabama ranks number 11 in the 2016 Rivals.com national recruiting rankings.

Inside the Locker Room airs every weekday from 7-9 AM on Tide 99.1 and the radioPup app.
