The Alabama football team got back to work on Tuesday during the bye week as the team prepares for the final month of the season.

Head coach Nick Saban met with reporters after practice and talked about the team's focus through the off week.

"I think the most important thing about a week like this is we got to have grit to keep doing the things that you need to do until we get it done," Saban said. "The things you focus on the longest you'll usually be the strongest at. The thing we need to focus on right now is improvement."

Saban said his players can be more consistent each week and eliminate mistakes that help the other team. That might seem like a strange message considering the 8-0 start and No. 1 ranking, but he never strays from the process.

"I think the key thing for us right now is you can't fall in love with what you've done. You've got to focus on the future and the challenges you have. There's nothing that you've done in the past that's going to help you in the future other than the experience you got and the learning experiences that you got."

Next up for Alabama is No. 19 LSU in Baton Rouge. The Crimson Tide has won five straight in the series.
