A year ago after a loss to Ole Miss, the leaders on the 2015 Alabama team held an emotional meeting to re-focus the players on the goals at hand. As we eventually found out, that message was received and the Crimson Tide didn't lose another game.

Fast-forward one year and the 2016 team is in a similar situation. This year's team meeting came after two blowout wins, but the message was the same.

"This is the first time that it happened this year, but hopefully it won't have to happen again," senior O.J. Howard said. "We weren't happy with the way we came out and played as a team. That wasn't the Bama way. We just had to step up and say something about that."

The players clearly grasp the philosophy of their head coach. Nick Saban found faults in both wins to start the season despite an 37-point average margin of victory, and Howard echoed the same sentiments.

"We were happy with the win, but the way we played and the mistakes that we made were unacceptable from us."

Ole Miss now awaits on the schedule. A team that has handed Alabama its only regular season loss each of the past two seasons.

"We know the past two years haven't ended up the way we want them to. We're just going out there with a chip on our shoulder. We know what we gotta do."

Saturday's game will kickoff at 2:30 PM and be televised nationally on CBS. Gameday coverage begins on Tide 102.9 at 9:30 AM with the Tide Tailgate Show.
