On a college football Saturday or NFL Sunday, it’s not uncommon to discover fans who display their competitive nature through participation in fantasy leagues or simple bets.

For one Arkansas restaurant owner, he took it to the next level. Rolf Wilkin, owner of Fayetteville’s Eureka Pizza, tweeted an offer of 1,000 free pizzas to Arkansas students, staff and faculty if the Razorbacks take down the Crimson Tide this Saturday.

During Tuesday’s edition of Southern Fried Sports, Wilkin explained his reasoning behind the offer.

“We are dead tired, ‘til we last beat you guys (Alabama) 10 years ago, it was 2006 in double overtime, by the way. We miss it. We enjoy beating you guys, and it’s been a long time. Our freshman were in third grade the last time they experienced the sweet wine of victory.” Wilkin said.

The owner of Eureka Pizza further expressed his confidence in Razorbacks coach Bret Bielema, quarterback Austin Allen.

“We love the guy. We love our quarterback Austin Allen. This guy truly believes he can win with every throw. I think we got a great team here.” Wilkin said.

Wilkin also believes that 2016 could be the season that Arkansas breaks their nine-game losing streak to Alabama.

“I think this is it.” Wilkin said.

In addition to Eureka Pizza’s offer of 1,000 free pizzas to the Razorback nation, a Tuscaloosa restaurateur joined in on the fun.

Frank Fleming, owner of Heat Pizza Bar in Tuscaloosa, joined Rolf Wilkin in making a separate pie-for-pie bet between the two owners. Wilkin is putting a Tuscan Chicken Pizza on the line while Fleming counters with a Thai Chicken Pizza.
