Auburn High School Linebacker Reuben Foster, a consensus top 15 recruit across all major recruiting services, committed to Alabama Monday. Foster chose Alabama over Auburn and Georgia on Fox Sports South.

The much-publicized recruitment of Foster began with a commitment to Alabama during the summer prior to his junior season. He later transferred from Troup County in Georgia to Auburn High School in July of 2012, and his interest in the Auburn Tigers increased tremendously.

Internet message boards feverishly speculated that a flip from Alabama to Auburn was imminent, and that turned out to be the case when Foster held a press conference to officially announce his switch on July 12. To make things even more strange, he practically repeated a statement that running back T.J. Yeldon issued when he flipped from Auburn to Alabama during the previous recruiting cycle.

Just when you thought the story might settle into a bit of normalcy, Foster went out and inked an Auburn tattoo on his forearm.

Fast forward six months to last weekend. News broke Saturday night that the blue chip recruit spent the second day of his official visit to Auburn....in Tuscaloosa.

At that point, practically every recruiting analyst in the country predicted the flip from Auburn back to Alabama, which occurred Monday night.

And thus begins the final 36 hours of this recruiting cycle. After watching his announcement, don't expect this story to be completed until the fax comes through.
