In less than 48 hours, college football programs including Alabama will finalize their classes for the 2018 recruiting season.

In December, the Crimson Tide signed 15 prospects including four linebackers, three defensive backs, two offensive lineman and two defensive lineman during the early signing period.

To kick off the week, veteran recruiting observer from TiderInsider.com Rodney Orr provided his forecast of how Alabama could fare on National Signing Day on The Gary Harris Show.

Orr examined a wide variety of Alabama’s remaining targets for the 2018 signing class including Bobby Brown, Quay Walker, Jaylen Moody, JJ Peterson and Patrick Surtain Jr.

The TiderInsider recruiting analyst highlighted Glenn Beal as a player to watch at tight end and defensive end. Beal is from just outside of New Orleans in River Ridge, Louisiana. According to Rodney Orr, Alabama, Texas A&M and Tennessee are the top three schools pursing Beal.

When signing day closes, Orr thinks that a strong finish can get Alabama’s signing class a top five national rankings.

“If everything went perfectly, I still think they could challenge for the number one spot, but again, I’m talking everything would have to go just perfectly, but I do think they’ve got a reasonable spot at No. 2, 3, 4, somewhere in there. I could see that happening.” Orr said.
