With the 2018 season over three months away and the early signing date for the 2019 recruiting class approximately seven months away, Alabama football is off to a good start in the recruiting cycle.

Heading into the beginning of the week, the Crimson Tide has the top ranking in the 2019 recruiting rankings according to Rivals.com and 247Sports.

Alabama has a total of 13 commitments for the upcoming class including the recent commitment for one of America’s top defensive lineman.

Colonia, New Jersey native Antonio Alfano announced his intention to play for the Crimson Tide prior to the start of the weekend.

To start the week, Rodney Orr recapped the big recruiting announcement on The Gary Harris Show.

After detailing Alfano’s profile, the TiderInsider.com analyst described how the New Jersey native fits in with the Alabama football program.

“He kind of embraced what it takes to play at Alabama, and I think that’s the key. Not only does he have the talent and the skills and all of those things to be developed into a great player, but I think he has the right mindset. To me, he just seemed to be a great fit for what Alabama does and how they do things.” Orr said.

Orr also commented on Tua’s transfer comments, Najee Harris’ potential impact in 2018 and Nick Saban’s legacy at Alabama.
