When examining the best football programs in America, Alabama come to mind as one of the sport’s most elite programs with 16 national championships along with 26 SEC titles.

In Nick Saban’s tenure in Tuscaloosa, the Crimson Tide has a record of 68-12 against SEC competition in regular season play.

Of their 68 wins, Alabama has defeated Tennessee and Arkansas 10 times, Auburn seven times and LSU eight times with seven of those wins coming in regular season play.

During the “True/False” segment of Thursday’s edition of The Blitz, guest host Ryan Fowler provided his forecast of Auburn and LSU’s chances of beating Alabama under Nick Saban and the long-term job security for Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn and LSU head Ed Orgeron.

To begin the segment, Fowler expressed his doubts regarding Orgeron’s ability to knock off Alabama as LSU’s head coach.

“No, he will not.” Fowler said. “Right now Alabama has beaten LSU six years in a row and that will continue.”

The veteran host of The Game then pondered whether LSU made a mistake firing Les Miles while hiring Ed Orgeron as his permanent replacement.

“Is LSU better right now, coaching wise, than what they were this time last year?” Fowler asked.

Following his analysis of the Miles-Orgeron coaching angle, Fowler estimated the amount of time that Orgeron would be out at LSU.

“He will not make it four years, not a chance.” Fowler said.

He then examined Gus Malzahn’s tenure at Auburn and offered a basic reason why Malzahn may not be their head coach long term.

“I don’t see them beating Alabama.” Fowler stated.

The Blitz kicks off live and local coverage of Alabama sports every weekday from 6-7 AM on Tide 102.9/100.9 and the radioPup app.
