Former Alabama Star Gets a Big Honor

A Former Alabama Player has just Received Massive Recognition.

The University welcomed home one the most distinguished alumni of its football program on Saturday.

Two former Crimson Tide stars have earned their spots on the official ballot for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame next year.

In an announcement by the College Football Hall of Fame Wednesday, it was announced that two former Alabama players have been put on the 2022 ballot. Crimson Tide player-turned-coach Sylvester Croom and legendary running back Shaun Alexander represent ‘Bama.

The College Football Hall of Fame announced its 2021 nominees today and two former Crimson Tide greats were announced on the ballot. The Hall of Fame announced 78 former players who are up for the 2021 class. Former defensive back Antonio Langham and former offensive lineman Chris Samuels made the upcoming ballot.

The nation is in uproar this week as many are protesting the death of George Floyd. Floyd was killed while detained by police officer Derek Chauvin for allegedly using a counterfeit $20 bill in Minneapolis, Minnesota. There have been protests and riots across several major cities in America this week as citizens have been enraged by the death of Floyd. Minneapolis, Los Angeles, New York and Atlanta have seen significant property damage due to disgruntled citizens protesting racial injustice. It Atlanta, one organization sustaining property damage is the College Football Hall of Fame. According to video shot by NBC News's Blayne Alexander the venue was broken into and significant damage was sustained by the College Football Hall of Fame.

Legendary Crimson Tide linebacker E.J. Junior joined The Game with Ryan Fowler to discuss his selection into the College Football Hall of Fame Class of 2020.

The College Football Hall of Fame has announced its inductees for the class of 2020. Among the honorees is former Crimson Tide defender E.J. Junior. Junior played at the Capstone form 1977-80. Junior played defensive end on two national championship winning defenses while he was in Tuscaloosa.

Former Alabama OT Chris Samuels joined The Game with Ryan Fowler to discuss being on the College Football Hall is Fame ballot and looks back on the 1999 Alabama team.
