While Alabama continues to search for its starting quarterback for 2016, another SEC West team announced its starter for next season.

The Texas A&M Aggies just wrapped up spring practice with is annual Maroon and White game over the weekend and Oklahoma transfer Trevor Knight has emerged as the starter.

Knight completed 25 of 36 passes for 282 yards with a passing and rushing touchdown. He's set to start the opener against UCLA on September 3.

Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin lost both of his top quarterbacks to transfer during the offseason. Kyle Allen, who lost his job after throwing three interceptions for touchdowns against Alabama, left for Houston while Kyler Murray left for Oklahoma.

Knight played his best game as a Sooner against the Crimson Tide in a 45-31 Sugar Bowl victory. He entered last season as the favorite but eventually lost the starting job to Baker Mayfield.
