Theodore's Dazon Ingram, the state of Alabama's top player last season, made his college decision on Friday, picking Alabama over Kentucky.

“We are real excited to have Dazon join our Crimson Tide family,” Alabama head coach Avery Johnson said. “I just want to thank Dazon and his family for having the confidence in me and my staff that he will be in good hands as a student-athlete at The University of Alabama.”

The 2015 Mr. Basketball had previously committed to Anthony Grant last October but re-opened his recruitment after The University of Alabama made a coaching change. Over the last month, John Calipari began pushing harder for Ingram to give Kentucky a look. Ultimately, Ingram said the Crimson Tide felt right.

The addition of a top guard couldn't have come at a better time for head coach Avery Johnson. In the past week, Ricky Tarrant and Devin Mitchell were both granted a release from the school and will transfer. That leaves the Crimson Tide with just two guards returning from last year's team.

Ingram is the first Mr. Basketball winner to choose Alabama since Trevor Lacey in 2011.
